OptiPillows is a reusable anti-snoring EPAP (Expiratory Positive Airway Pressure) mask for treatment of snoring and mild to moderate OSA that includes mild nasal dilation. The OptiPillows EPAP Mask is developed with no adhesive strips or power supply requirements – but with an emphasis on portability, usability and affordability.

The OptiPillows mask allows inhalation with minimal resistance, but with more resistance during exhalation causing the pressure to be elevated.

The OptiPillows EPAP mask consists of a nasal pillow cushion with headgear and has a one-way valve attached to it that allows air to flow freely without resistance during inspiration. The mask is held in place with adjustable head straps connected to the sides of the mask.

During exhalation, the air is redirected through a narrow opening, on the side of the valve. The expiratory opening creates resistance to airflow, thus increasing the backpressure in the upper airways. This increase prevents the upper airway from collapsing, alleviating airway obstruction. The backpressure can be adjusted to the patient’s comfort by rotating the sleeve to open or close the expiratory opening on the side of the valve. The adjustable expiratory resistance improves the comfort and safety of the user and facilitates adaptation to the EPAP mask.
